“Feel Good” Renewed for Second and Final Season by Netflix

"Feel Good": Netflix

Mae and George’s love story has only just begun. Netflix has renewed “Feel Good” for a second and final season, a press release announced. Co-created by star Mae Martin, the semi-autobiographical dramedy is set in London and tells the story of Mae (Martin), a Canadian stand-up comedian and recovering addict who falls for George (Charlotte Ritchie), a woman who isn’t out to her friends and family.

Season 2 of “Feel Good” is slated to premiere in 2021 and sees Mae struggling “to come to terms with the ghosts from her past” while George “tries to reinvent her present. Can they grow together or will they grow apart?” Netflix’s synopsis asks.

“Friends” alumna Lisa Kudrow will reprise her role as Mae’s mother.

“I’m beyond excited to be able to return to the world of ‘Feel Good,’ and to see Mae and George’s love story through to the dramatic conclusion we had always planned,” said Martin.

“The character Mae is where I was about 10 years ago,” Martin told The Guardian earlier this year. “So it’s a pretty tenuous grip on sobriety, just fresh out of the depths of addiction and super manic. I have a pretty good hold on my life now – I’m pretty stable. But I definitely feel like, in a way… I miss her.”

A two-time Canadian Screen Award winner for her writing on CBC’s “Baroness von Sketch Show,” Martin released her debut book, “Can Everyone Please Calm Down?: A Guide to 21st Century Sexuality” in 2019.
