FilmRise to Distribute Digital Series Celebrating Women Role Models

“Modern Hero’ has racked up millions of YouTube views, made a significant mark on social media, and won several awards. Now, thanks to FilmRise, from Julia Fisher Farbman and Cindy Connors’s digital series about women heroes around the world will get a chance to make even more of an impact. Beginning November 16, the UN’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, FilmRise is distributing the series for download and streaming on its VOD platform and others such as Facebook Watch and Tubi.

“Modern Hero” sees host Fisher Farbman interviewing “female role models of all ages, races, and careers.” Chef Ericka Lassair, NASA engineer Farah Alibay, pediatric oncologist Audrey Evans, and entrepreneur Yasmine Mustafa are among the guests, all of whom have “overcome unbelievable odds to prevail.”

“The mission of [‘Modern Hero’] is to inspire young girls and women to dream big and not let gender norms hold them back from success,” FilmRise stated in a press release. “The fascinating inspiring women featured in the series are from all walks of life and are role models with a message of hope and empowerment for future generations.”
