The tracking for this film is huge. Predictions have it opening at $150 million. The first film in the series opened in March and grossed $152 million on its opening weekend. It is the largest opening weekend for a film that stars a woman.
This film is opening the week before Thanksgiving on November 22 and I am betting it will be bigger. Jennifer Lawrence is a mega star now with her Oscar win, and anticipation for the film seems bigger. It’s just going to explode.
Just to get a sense of how big it could be, this trailer has been viewed 13 million times.
