Writer-director Jennifer Lee has finally announced her first post-Frozen project: an adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s beloved sci-fi children’s classic A Wrinkle in Time for Disney.
At this time Lee is only signed on for script writing duties. We can only hope that she will be adding directing duties to what may turn out to be another booming YA girl-centric franchise. It would make perfect sense for the studio to want to sign the director of the 5th most popular movie of all time to the project.
A Wrinkle in Time, the first book in a four-part series, follows 14-year-old misfit Meg and her three younger brothers on their travels through an alternate dimension to find their mathematician father.
The novel is reportedly one of Lee’s childhood favorites. In addition to Frozen, she also penned the well-received animated adventure Wreck-It Ralph.
