Frozen Now the Highest-Grossing Animated Film in History

With over a $1 billion in ticket sales internationally, Frozen is no longer just the highest-grossing animated film in Disney history, but the highest-grossing animated film ever.

Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck’s feminist fairy tale has also entered the top-ten list of the highest-grossing films of all time. Frozen and Titanic are the only two films on that list to feature a female protagonist.

Frozen has also set two noteworthy records for Big Mouse: it’s the first Disney Animation Studios movie to pass the billion-dollar mark, as well as the first to win an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
