Having Trouble Finishing Your Film? Maybe You Could Get a Grant

The Women in Film Foundation announces the 27th cycle of their finishing fund grants which provide up to $15,000 in cash as well as some serious in-kind donations towards finishing your film.

The current cycle is now open and you can apply until May 18. Here is the info.

The fund has given out over $2 million in grants

Here are some of the rules:

  • A documentary filmmaker must have completed principal photography and a rough cut.
  • A narrative filmmaker must have finished 90% of principal photography and a rough cut at the time of application.
  • Filmmakers do not have to be Women In Film members to apply for the FFF, however this year, if you are a member of WIF, you will receive a reduced application fee.
  • Please note that student projects are not eligible to receive Film Finishing Funds.

One recent success of the fund is Circumstance which won the audience award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
