A premiere date for “Confirmation” has at long last been confirmed: the HBO film starring Kerry Washington will debut on the premium cable network Saturday, April 16 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
Washington will show us a very different side of D.C. in the Anita Hill biopic. Written by Susannah Grant (“Erin Brockovich,” “Charlotte’s Web”), “Confirmation” will focus on the Supreme Court confirmation of Clarence Thomas (Wendell Pierce, “Suits,” “The Wire”), whom Hill accused of sexual harassment in front of Congress. Thomas still ascended to the highest court in the land, of course, but Hill struck her own victory by bringing greater awareness of women’s issues in the workplace, though at great cost to her reputation.
“Confirmation” co-stars Jennifer Hudson (“Chi-Raq”), Erika Christensen (“Parenthood”), Grace Gummer (“Extant”) and Kimberly Elise (“Hit the Floor”).
Washington executive produced the drama with Grant, Janice Williams and Michael London.
