Helen Hunt is writing, directing, producing and starring in Ride. This will be her second directing gig following the 2007 film Then She Found Me.
The film focuses on a 20 year old NYU student (Brenton Thwaites) who moves to California for the summer. When his magazine editor mother (Hunt) hears this, she decides to follow him. While in California, she meets a surfing instructor (Luke Wilson) who changes everything.
Hunt is producing through with Lizzie Friedman, Sandbar Productions and Moon Blauner. Matthew Carnahan is executive producing.
Ride begins production in Los Angeles in August. Hunt will next be seen in Decoding Annie Parker with Samantha Morton about the true story of the finding of the breast cancer gene.
