Helena Coan’s Audrey Hepburn Doc Secures Theatrical Release

Hepburn in "Sabrina"

Good Deed Entertainment has secured the North American rights to “Audrey,” Helena Coan’s documentary about legendary Hollywood star Audrey Hepburn. Produced by Salon Pictures and distributed by XYZ Films, the doc is set for a 2020 theatrical release, Deadline reports.

The doc centers on the iconic actress’ early struggles with her estranged father, malnourishment, and growing up in Europe against the backdrop of WWII, as well as her rise to Hollywood stardom. The doc also traces the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Roman Holiday” star’s romantic life and her humanitarianism. “Audrey” will feature audio-visual archival material and interviews, and will include choreography in honor Hepburn’s passion for dance.

Annabel Wigoder (“Breaking Habits”) is among the doc’s producers.

Hepburn’s other notable works include “Charade,” “My Fair Lady,” and “Sabrina.” She took home an Oscar for her work in “Roman Holiday” and received a posthumous honorary Academy Award for her humanitarian efforts. She also nabbed Oscar nods for “Sabrina,” “The Nun’s Story,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and “Wait Until Dark.”

Coan previously wrote and directed feature documentary “Chasing Perfect,” a portrait of car designer Frank Stephenson, and short thriller “Keepsake.”
