Hillary Clinton Supports Women’s Sports As the US Women Prepare for the World Cup

Sports are a part of pop culture and this is an exciting year as the US women get ready to head to Germany to try and take back the World Cup trophy. Mind you if they played as bad as they played on Sunday they will be out in the first round, but we are hopeful.

The Secretary of State gave a speech this week in support of Title IX (which will be 40) and talked about how sports can empower girls and women across the world. The State Department has created a Women’s World Cup Initiative in support of the World Cup which kicks off later this month. All the games will be on ESPN. I heard that the opening game for the German team has sold out 80,000 tickets in Berlin.

Here’s her speech
