One of the hottest screenplays in Hollywood right now isn’t just being discussed by industry insiders over lunches in Beverly Hills or in the entertainment blogosphere—it’s also being widely discussed in political circles.
Because it’s about Hillary.
Rodham, focuses on Clinton, in her twenties deciding between her career, being the youngest attorney working on the House Judiciary Committee to impeach Richard Nixon, or her boyfriend, Bill Clinton who has his own political ambitions based in Arkansas.
In an interview with Politico, screenwriter Young Il Kim, said he was inspired to write the script after seeing the picture of Clinton with President Obama watching the raid on Osama bin Laden from the Situation Room, mainly because it reminded him of another picture of Clinton, one he had seen years before.
There was this photo of Hillary when she was in her 20s with coke-bottle glasses and long, hippie hair. And it was those two images that really made me realize that this would be a great way into this story just to focus on a moment in her life when she’s in her 20s, and she doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life.
The script came in at number four on the recently released Black List and Temple Hill Entertainment alongside Richard Arlook are set to produce the film. They are now looking for funding and we also hope that they bring some smart women onto the team cause we can't see a movie about Hillary Clinton being made a a team full of guys.
Clinton is an endlessly fascinating and inspiring woman and it will be very interesting to see how the development of this film comes along ans who would play the role of young Hillary.
