Hollywood Feminist of the Day: Elizabeth Olsen

This younger Olsen sister has a lot to say about about how Hollywood depicts young women onscreen. Here’s what she had to say:

A lot of times with female relationships and young women [in the movies], it’s either ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ or catty b — , I just have a problem with that. They’re supposed to be either as perfect as how they’re portrayed on Disney or as mean as they’re portrayed in high school movies. And in real life it’s neither of those.

She soon going to star with Dakota Fanning in Very Good Girls written by Naomi Foner but it looks like there is some trouble with the financing which doesn’t surprise Olsen who said: “A lot of people don’t want to finance movies like that. Unless, of course, there are vampires or something weird that can animorph.”

Olsen will be in Peace Love and Misunderstanding premiering at the Toronto Film Festival and Martha Marcy May Marlene which opens on October 21
