Hollywood Feminist of the Day: John Legend

nullJohn Legend is completely swoon-worthy. He’s an extremely talented and good looking musician. Oh and he’s an outspoken feminist.

Legend is involved in the charity, Chime for Change, that focuses on raising money to help empower women worldwide. Legend announced The Sound of Change Live, a concert that Legend will be performing at alongside Beyonce, Ellie Goulding and Florence and the Machine amongst others. The concert will raise funds and awareness for the organization.

During the press conference, Legend made his commitment very clear.

All men should be feminists. If men care about women’s rights the world will be a better place.

He later went on to say that if women were more empowered, it would lead to a better society. Legend also cited his mother as one of his inspirations.

It’s so great to see men like Legend using their fame and resources to speak out about feminism and women’s rights. Hopefully, Legend will inspire more to do so.
