IFP Opens Submissions for IFP Film Week

“Appropriate Behavior,” an IFP alumni

Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) is now accepting submissions for IFP Film Week. The 38th annual installment of the event will take place in Brooklyn September 17–22.

IFP welcomes submissions for projects of all shapes and sizes, including feature-length, TV and web series.

The Project Forum will connect emerging artists with new narrative and doc projects in development, production or post-production with industry execs who want to play a role in steering projects through development, financing and distribution.

Approximately 150 projects will be selected from countries around the world in two sections: No Borders and Spotlight on Documentaries. No Borders will offer filmmakers and series creators the chance to attend Film Week and meet with industry vets to move their projects forward. The Spotlight on Documentaries program will bring attention to non-fiction features and series via networking opportunities with sales companies, festival programmers and more.

Submissions for both categories are open. The early deadline for both is May 2. The late deadline for No Borders is May 17, while the late deadline for Spotlight on Documentaries is May 24.

IFP alumni include “Appropriate Behavior,” “Obvious Child,” “(T)error” and “After Tiller.”
