IMDbPro, the movie and TV database’s subscription platform, will make it easier for its members to report sexual harassment or seek other kinds of help. Variety reports the new IMDbPro app includes contact info and tap-to-call functionality for Women in Film’s Sexual Harassment Help Line as well as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
The hotline offers resources and emotional support to survivors of sexual harassment in show business. The line is active Mondays through Fridays and refers callers to pro bono attorneys, mental health professionals, and a support group. The number is 323-545-0333.
A federal agency that enforces national non-discrimination employment laws, the EEOC can help in cases of racial, gender, age, disability, nationality, ethnicity, and/or religious discrimination in the workplace.
IMDbPro has also been supporting the fight for better representation on and off-screen. The platform partnered with ReFrame on the ReFrame Stamp, a mark of approval for films and TV projects that hire female-identifying and diverse individuals on both sides of the camera, such as “Wonder Woman,” “Girls Trip,” and “Everything, Everything.” All the projects that have received the stamp are listed on IMDbPro and ReFrame’s website.
