Hunger Games actress and indie darling Jena Malone will reunite with director So Yong Kim in Lovesong, a road-trip movie about the romance that develops between two best friends: Sarah (Malone), the mother of a young girl, and Mindy (Riley Keough), who’s about to get married.
In addition to For Ellen, Kim’s previous features include In Between Days and Treeless Mountain. She will co-write Lovesong.
This is the latest project to come out of Gamechanger, the for-profit producing firm dedicated to female filmmakers. Their upcoming films include Karyn Kusama’s The Invitation and Jamie Babbit’s Fresno.
