“Yes Day” is coming to Netflix. Jennifer Garner will star in and produce a comedy for the streamer based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s best-selling children’s book of the same name. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news.
The book’s — and film’s — premise is that one day a year, parents agree to say “yes” to everything their kids request, be it eating a sundae for breakfast, skipping music lessons, or sleeping in a tent.
Garner practices the annual tradition with her own family, and has spoken about it on social media.
“Yes Day” re-teams the “Miracles From Heaven” star with her “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” director Miguel Arteta.
The “Alias” alumna is showing off her ass-kicking roots in “Peppermint,” in theaters now. The thriller sees Garner playing a woman seeking revenge for the murders of her husband and daughter. “I’ll be interested to see if people can separate their idea of me as the girl next door to accept me in this heightened reality,” Garner has said of the pic. “Obviously we’re not condoning this kind of action in real life, but if it were a man doing it, would it be an issue? We’ll have to see.”
Up next for Garner is “Camping.” From “Girls” collaborators Lena Dunham and Jennifer Konner, the comedy series centers on a wife and husband whose camping trip with friends spirals out of control. “Camping” premieres on HBO October 14.
