After working together on Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence and director David O. Russell will collaborate again on a film currently titled Joy.
The 23-year-old actress previously announced her interest in playing inventor Joy Mangano, who holds over a hundred patents and appears regularly on the Home Shopping Network. Mangano is the president of Ingenious Designs and is best known for creating the Miracle Mop and Huggable Hangers.
The biopic is planned for a Christmas 2015 release, just in time for Oscar season. Lawrence won a Best Actress Academy Award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and received another nod for American Hustle.
Joy is penned by Annie Mumolo, who co-wrote Bridesmaids with Kristen Wiig.
