Jenny Carchman to Direct Docuseries About “Queen of Gossip” Cindy Adams for Showtime

Adams: Showtime/New York Post

Kristen Bell isn’t the only Gossip Girl in New York City. A docuseries about New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams is in the works at CBS’ Showtime Networks, Deadline reports.

Set to premiere in 2021, “Gossip Starring Cindy Adams” will “chronicle Adams’ four-decade career as the ‘reigning queen of gossip,’ the notorious characters that have emerged from her writing, and her journalistic colleagues,” the source hints.

Jenny Carchman (“The Fourth Estate”) is directing the series and producing.

“I don’t like the word gossip because it’s pejorative,” Adams has said. “It doesn’t have to be nasty and biting. It should be chatty. It should be funny. It should be something you do over coffee in the morning.”
