In her first live-action comic turn since her breakthrough role in “The Help,” Jessica Chastain has signed on to play the lead in the April Prosser-penned comedy “Plus One.”
Chastain’s fellow outspoken feminist Amy Schumer is in talks to co-star in the film, which centers on Rachel, a woman recently out of a long-term relationship who finds that she needs some guidance navigating the dating world again. Since all of her friends are now married and with children, Rachel turns for help to a new gal pal who doesn’t mind being her wing-woman (presumably Schumer’s role).
Weinstein and producer Jessica Elbaum’s Gloria Sanchez shingle will produce.
