Jill Soloway will executive produce a musical comedy for Amazon, The Hollywood Reporter writes. The series will follow “a woman’s search for love and self-discovery in Los Angeles.”
The idea was conceived by Ethan Kuperberg, a writer on Soloway’s hit series “Transparent.” He’ll write the script. “Transparent’s” Andrea Sperling will also serve as executive producer.
Soloway’s latest Amazon project hits the streaming site later this week. “I Love Dick,” based on a controversial 1997 novel of the same name, centers on “Chris (played by ‘Transparent’s’ Kathryn Hahn) and Sylvere (Griffin Dunne), who arrive in Marfa when Sylvere is offered a fellowship to finish a book he’s been writing on the Holocaust. There they meet Dick (Kevin Bacon), who taunts their imaginations and upends their preconceptions about love and monogamy.”
As a part of her overall Amazon deal, Soloway is also developing the film “Ten Aker Wood,” about “a woman who leaves her troubled marriage behind to start a new life in Northern California working on a marijuana farm.”
The third season of “Transparent” will hit Amazon on September 23. Soloway was recently announced as a keynote speaker for SXSW 2017.
