Working Title has optioned Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon’s memoir “In My Shoes,” Deadline has reported.
Comedian and screenwriter Laura Solon (“Hot in Cleveland”) has adapted the book, and Deadline reports that Working Title is reaching out to directors (here’s hoping a woman).
“In My Shoes” tells the story of Mellon’s troubled childhood, her time as an editor at Vogue, her partnership with Choo, and her role in the company’s success. Deadline says that the film will be “[e]nvisioned as a female-skewing big fashion comedy a la ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘Sex and the City,’” and that “there’s also some ‘Trainwreck’ in the mix.”
A UK company, Working Title’s next film to hit theaters will be “Bridget Jones’s Baby” due for release September 16.
