Join the Girls Club for a Conversation with Paul Feig About “Other Space”

Feig

The Girls Club will welcome Paul Feig for a discussion about his work as an ally to women and people of color in the entertainment business, his quarantine activities, and “Other Space,” a high-flying sci-fi show he created that’ll be released on Dust August 1. The event will take place Tuesday, July 21, at 4 p.m. EST.

Feig’s features include “Last Christmas,” “A Simple Favor,” “Ghostbusters,” “Spy,” “The Heat,” and “Bridesmaids.” “The Office,” “Nurse Jackie,” and “Parks and Recreation” are among his small screen directing credits, and he created “Freaks and Geeks,” a much-loved coming-of-age series that ran on NBC.

Set in 2105, “Other Space” sees a a young, inexperienced, and highly flawed crew embarking on a routine exploratory space mission. Suddenly, their ship, the UMP Cruiser, is drawn through a portal into a different, mysterious universe. With no maps, no contact, and no way back home, Captain Stewart Lipinski, First Officer/Stewart’s-Older-Sister Karen Lipinski, and their crew have to learn to work together, all while dealing with mysterious space clouds, food, and fuel shortages, robot rebellions, folds in time, and the occasional alien attack.

The Girls Club conversation with Feig is open to the public. Remember to register in advance. More info is below.
