“Far from Heaven” co-stars Julianne Moore and Patricia Clarkson are set to reunite at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF). Both are being honored at the 2019 edition of the Czech Republic-based fest, Screen Daily confirms.
Moore-starrer “After the Wedding” is slated to open KVIFF. An English-language remake of Susanne Bier’s 2006 Danish drama, the feature sees Moore playing a benefactor interested in making a major donation to an orphanage in India managed by a woman (Michelle Williams) who shares a history with her husband (Billy Crudup).
Moore, who won an Oscar in 2015 for “Still Alice,” will receive the fest’s Crystal Globe for outstanding artistic contribution to world cinema. Among her upcoming projects is Julie Taymor’s Gloria Steinem biopic “The Glorias: A Life on the Road.”
Clarkson will be presenting her 2014 dramedy, “Learning to Drive.” Directed by Isabel Coixet, its tells the story of a Manhattan writer (Clarkson) who forges an unexpected connection with her Sikh driving instructor (Ben Kingsley). The Golden Globe-winning “Sharp Objects” star is slated to receive a Crystal Globe for outstanding artistic contribution to world cinema. Clarkson is re-teaming with Coixet on “Light on Broken Glass,” an upcoming musical about an actress preparing for the revival of her hit Broadway show.
