Julie Delpy has announced plans to write and direct her sixth film, A Dazzling Display of Splendor.
Variety reports that the film is set during “the early days of silent films and the automobile industry and follows a family of vaudeville performers embarking on a cross-country road trip from New York to Los Angeles while making a motion picture.”
It is unknown whether Delpy will also star.
Delpy directed her first film project, the short “Blah Blah Blah,” the same year she co-wrote and starred in Before Sunrise (1995). Her debut feature, Looking for Jimmy, was released seven years later. Since then, the indefatigable Delpy has made a film every other year, including the two romantic comedies 2 Days in Paris and 2 Days in New York, co-starring Chris Rock as Delpy’s lover.
