Julie Delpy to Start Shooting Her Sixth Film Next Month

Fresh off her Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar nod for Before Midnight (along with Richard Linklater and Ethan Hawke), Julie Delpy is set to start shooting her sixth feature next month.

Delpy will direct and star in Lolo, a French-language comedy about a chic single mother in her forties in a new romance with a computer nerd from the country. While the fashionable Violette and the geeky Jean-René (Dany Boon) thrive on the attraction of opposites, their relationship is threatened by Jean-René’s discomfort with Violette and her 20-year-son Lolo’s unconventional mother-child bond.

Delpy penned the script with Eugenie Grandval. Budgeted at $10 million, the film will commence shooting on October 6 in Paris, Biarritz, and London.
