Julie Delpy’s Romantic Comedy ‘Lolo’ to Be Released By FilmRise

LoloJulie Delpy’s sixth feature will be distributed by FilmRise.

The romantic comedy "Lolo" — which Delpy wrote, directed and stars in — will open March 11. The film centers on 40-year-old Violette (Delpy), a workaholic in the fashion industry who falls in love with a small-town computer geek (Dany Boon). But first, the new couple has to ensure that Violette’s jealous adolescent son Lolo (Vincent Lacoste) doesn’t wreck their relationship in order to remain his mother’s "favorite."

"Lolo" is Delpy’s directorial follow up to 2012’s "2 Days in New York."

“With its mainstream appeal, we are thrilled to be bringing ‘Lolo’ to the US,” commented FilmRise CEO Danny Fisher. “We are confident that American audiences will fall in love with Julie Delpy’s hilarious crowd-pleaser, just as we have.”

Delpy added, “I am beyond ecstatic that ‘Lolo,’ a film that means so much to me, will be released theatrically in the US. As a filmmaker and actress, I have put my heart and soul into this film. I am so happy that I can share ‘Lolo’ with American audiences.”
