Juliet Stevenson Set to Star in Polly Steele’s Intergenerational Drama About Mothers and Daughters

nullFour-time BAFTA nominee and theater vet Juliet Stevenson will likely star in Polly Steele’s "Let Me Go." The drama, an intergenerational story about mothers and daughters tracing back to WWII, very recently started shooting.

Stevenson most recently appeared in "The Letters" as Mother Teresa.

In addition to her directing duties, Steele penned the script for the film, which co-stars Jodhi May ("The Other Boleyn Girl"), Karin Bertling ("The Bridge") and Lucy Boynton ("Law & Order: UK").

A female-centric film written and directed by a woman is already cause for celebration, but "Let Me Go" also boasts a gender-balanced crew.

"We are thrilled to be making a truly independent film with extraordinary female leads, as well as an amazing crew made up of 50% women," Steele told Variety. "The time has come for this story to be told, and we are very excited to be bringing it to the screen."
