Kari Skogland and Red Arrow Team Up for New Production Company with Focus on Diverse Voices

Canadian director, writer and showrunner Kari Skogland (“The Americans,” “House of Cards”) has partnered with Red Arrow Entertainment Group to create Mad Rabbit, an new indie production company. Skogland will act as CEO.

Deadline reports the company will be dually based in Toronto and LA and will produce “high-end drama for the international market.”

The company is seemingly preparing to become an incubator for female talent. Skogland herself will write and direct some projects under the company banner, as well as “look to foster new voices.” Skogland told Deadline the company will aim to focus on being “a voice of diversity,” adding that “there are wonderful contemporary and historical stories out there; exotic worlds we haven’t seen before.” According to Skogland, she “has previously faced a ‘glass ceiling’ as a woman in the features and television business.”

The company has also brought a woman onboard for an integral component of their commitment to diversity. Elsie Choi, ex-Head of Production and Development at Willis Brothers Films, will lead development at Mad Rabbit.
