Kate Winslet is going to star in Jocelyn Moorhouse’s The Dressmaker. Moorhouse has also written the script which is based on the novel by Rosalie Ham.
Winslet will play Tilly, a woman who comes back to her small town after being accused of murder. Tilly works as a dressmaker, who fully embraces the couture fashions of the 1940s. While Tilly is shunned by her community, she simultaneously liberates the women of the town through her fashion designs.
Winslet is currently at work on Divergent, the adaptation of Veronica Roth’s YA novel starring Shailene Woodley.
