Rom com queen Katherine Heigl stars in a variation on her theme in “Jenny’s Wedding,” which has been sold to IFC.
Heigl stars as Jenny in writer-director Mary Agnes Donoghue’s gay dramedy. Jenny is an out-and-proud lesbian — except to her parents. When she and her partner decide to get hitched and start a family, Jenny must finally come out to her mom and dad.
Donoghue’s previous film was 1991’s “Paradise.”
“Jenny’s Wedding” co-stars Linda Emond, Grace Gummer, Alexis Bledel and Diana Hardcastle. After its world premiere on July 10 at LA’s Outfest, the film will be released on July 31.
