Kristen Stewart Covers Vanity Fair and Tells Off The Voracious, Starving Shit Eaters

Fame is a bitch for Kristen Stewart. She used to be the kind of actress where as she said she could sit on her stoop and smoke pot in her underwear with her boyfriend and dog and nobody would care. No more. Since she hit it big she has created a barely tolerable relationship with the press that seems to be a mutual hateathon. She doesn’t smile a lot (we do like our young women very happy and smiley!) and they get back at her by making it seem that she is perpetually pissed off.

It’s got to be tough to have people taking pictures of you all the time from the moment you leave your house to the moment you return home. I’m guessing that she probably didn’t have any idea that Twilight would be as huge as it was (because it did not have a big budget, a big studio, big stars and was just targeted at young women so no one took it seriously at first), but now she is one of the biggest stars around. She can command $20 million a movie, so she smartly will do some films for the paycheck like Snow White and the Huntsman but also throw in the small budgets films she came up on like On the Road which premiered at Cannes. I’m a big fan of what she did playing Joan Jett in The Runaways.

I kind of impressed that she doesn’t give a shit and doesn’t want to be perfect or play into the fame machine. I’d rather have a real person rather than the fake Kardashian bullshit that we get shoved down our throats.

Here’s a quote from the July issue of Vanity Fair where she talks about what she looks like in photos:

I get some serious shit about it. I’m not embarrassed about it. I’m proud of it. If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me, or on the carpet, would think, What an actress! What a faker! That thought embarrasses me so much that I look like shit in half my photos, and I don’t give a fuck. What matters to me is that the people in the room leave and say, ‘She was cool. She had a good time. She was honest.’ I don’t care about the voracious, starving shit eaters who want to turn truth into shit. Not that you can say that in Vanity Fair!

I imagine that no matter what she says, those voracious, starving shit eaters will no doubt be still be pursuing her non-stop. I look forward to seeing what she does after the Twlight saga is over.
