Now that Hollywood has secured an unknown Brit to take on the latest Superman reboot (and please tell why we need another Superman reboot; can’t people come up with something original), the search has shifted to who will play the female lead. And by lead I mean small part for blonde woman who gets saved by Superman and then falls in love with him.
Didn’t we just have this conversation two weeks ago about the latest Batman reboot?
Rosamund Pike, Alice Eve and Diane Kruger and said to be the finalists for a role that the Variety story says is NOT Lois Lane. They have to make sure we know that the female lead will not be the female lead we are used to — a strong career woman.
That news comes on top of the news that Kristen Stewart is in final negotiations to play Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman alongside Viggo Mortensen. Sounds like a pretty crappy story with the premise being that the Evil Queen orders the Huntsman to kill Snow White and he becomes her protector. Yuck. I am so over these fairy tales where women need to be saved.
