Lesley Arfin and Judd Apatow to Create Netflix Show for Gillian Jacobs

When Judd Apatow announced earlier this year that he was collaborating with Amy Schumer on a big-screen vehicle for the brassy Comedy Central star, we celebrated his mid-career shift into mentoring female writers and comediennes like Lena Dunham.

Now he’s working with Lesley Arfin, a writer from Dunham’s Girls, on a show of their own on Netflix. Apatow, Arfin, and star Paul Rust are co-creating and will co-executive produce a romantic sitcom called Love. Community’s Gillian Jacobs will comprise the other half of the central couple.

Netflix has signed up for two seasons of Love, which will focus on the “exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, and other things they were hoping to avoid.”

It is scheduled to debut in 2016.
