I admit it. I am totally obsessed with these books. I am in the middle of the third one and find them a much easier and engaging read than Twilight.

I am excited about this new films series and am in some ways glad it came after Twilight because this one for me is the real deal. While Twilight was great for what it accomplished, Bella was passive, and here Katniss (and I think they were completely right in casting Jennifer Lawrence) is active. She runs, she hunts, she fights, she survives and she becomes a leader.

I am in love with this character and I can’t wait for her to come off the page onto the screen. This one is going to be big. Twilight set the stage for a girl led trilogy and this will take it to the next level. They will have no trouble getting the guys into this movie, it’s an action adventure film all the way.
