Lifetime is partnering up with Jane Green. The author of 17 New York Times best-sellers, Green has been published in over 30 languages around the world. Looking to capitalize on that popularity, Lifetime has greenlit three movies based on Green’s novels. The network is planning adaptations of “Tempting Fate,” “To Have and to Hold,” and “Family Pictures,” a press release announced. All three titles will debut on Lifetime next year.

First in production is “Tempting Fate,” the story of a mother of two whose idyllic marriage is jeopardized when she meets a handsome younger man. It’s not long before their business arrangement becomes an emotional affair. Alyssa Milano is set to star in the pic, which will be co-helmed by actress Kim Raver (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “24”). Jennifer Maisel (“Lost Boy”) is taking on writing duties.

“To Have and to Hold” centers on a woman engaged to her high school crush, who is now wealthy and successful. While she’s done everything to fashion herself as the woman of his dreams, he’s still unfaithful to her, and she finds herself falling for her best friend’s boyfriend.

“Family Pictures” sees two strangers living on opposite coasts discovering a shocking secret when their college-bound daughters meet on a campus tour.

The trilogy’s exec producers include Raver and Green.

“Jane Green’s novels are addictive, fun, juicy, and wise — just like a great Lifetime Movie — so to bring the two genres together is incredibly thrilling,” said Tanya Lopez, EVP Movies, Limited Series & Original Movie Acquisitions, Lifetime and LMN.”With Kim set to direct and Alyssa as the star to kick off the first of the series by Jane, it is the perfect trifecta.”

Raver added, “Having been a massive fan of Jane’s books, it’s a dream come true for me and my producing partners to be able to bring these powerful female-centric stories to fruition at Lifetime!” She continued,  “I’m incredibly grateful to Tanya for championing this trilogy for us and giving me the opportunity to have my directorial debut!”
