Listen: Podcast with “Harlots” Producer Alison Owen

“Harlots”: Hulu

“Harlots” premieres today on Hulu. I had a conversation with producer Alison Owen about the brothel drama, set in London during the 18th century.

In this podcast, we talk about her foray into episodic TV, and how she got playwright and screenwriter Moira Buffini, the series co-creator, to finally take on the small screen. We also discuss some of Owen’s upcoming projects, including producing the big screen adaptation of Caitlin Moran’s bestselling novel “How to Build a Girl,” and a film about Roe v. Wade.

“Me Before You,” “Suffragette,” and “Saving Mr. Banks” are among Owen’s recent credits.

Just a disclaimer — the recording is not great. So, I apologize. We’re working to improve the sound quality for the future.
