Liza Johnson Directing Kristen Wiig in Hateship, Friendship

Kristen Wiig will be starring in Hateship, Friendship which begins shooting next week in New Orleans.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Liza Johnson, director of 2011’s Return, will be directing the film which is based on a collection of short stories, Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage by Alice Munro. The film will also star Hailee Steinfeld, playing a troubled teenager who attempts to set up her recovering addict father (Guy Pearce) with her nanny (Wiig) via email. Nick Nolte will play Pearce’s father-in-law who blames him for the death of his daughter.

Wiig just starred in Imogene, which premiered at TIFF and was purchased by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. As of now there is no set release date for Imogene.
