Magnolia Pictures has acquired the world-wide distribution rights to Lynn Shelton’s Touchy Feely.
Premiering at Sundance, the film, directed and written by Shelton, follows Abby (Rosemarie DeWitt) a massage therapist who is a carefree individual in direct contrast to her uptight dentist brother Paul (Josh Pais) whose dental practice is flailing and enlists his daughter (Ellen Page) to help him out. When Abby suddenly develops an aversion to bodily contact–her job and relationship with her boyfriend (Scoot McNairy) come into question.
Magnolia and Shelton previously worked together on Shelton’s film Humpday. Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles is excited to collaborate with Shelton again.
We are so happy to be working with the exquisitely talented Lynn Shelton again. Her mastery of character and generous understanding of real human emotions is as great as anyone’s working in film today.
Here’s our recent interview with Shelton from Sundance.
