Making Connections

nullAs Women and Hollywood has grown over the last couple of years we have been getting more and more emails from people who have ideas and projects that they need help with.  There are also people who have films they are trying to get the word out about, scripts they are looking for a producer or director for and so much more.

We are humbled that people are looking to us for help and support.  It is very hard to say no to anyone, especially when we could be saying no to the next great film or great director.  We would love to be in the position to help everyone, but we can’t.  We are a very small crew and we just don’t have the resources and to be honest, we also don’t really have the right connections.  And in order to keep doing what we do as well as we do it, we need to stick to our focus.

But we want to help so we’ve been thinking about what we can do and we have come up with a new section  called Connections.  The idea is for it to be a place where you can propose your project and explain what you are looking for.  This is a place where readers can connect with each other and hopefully make some great magic together.

Here’s how it will go.  To start we will accept 5 connections and the section will run bi-weekly.  If we get a lot we can go to weekly, and if this doesn’t work, it will just go away.

To be considered for Connections you need to:

  • List your name and email
  • Include the log line description of your project or idea.  (One paragraph max)
  • Say exactly what type of connection you are looking for – i.e. – I am looking for a producer.

IF YOU DO NOT INCLUDE ALL THE INFORMATION ABOVE, YOUR CONNECTION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.  And since this site is Women and Hollywood all connections submitted need to be for projects by and about women.

Email your info to: connections.wh@gmail.com

This is an experiment.  We have no idea whether it will take off or will just be an idea that did not work.  It’s up to you. We also welcome thoughts on how to make the section better.
