Malin Akerman, Kat Dennings, and Jane Seymour are hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for the ages. The trio are set to star in “Friendsgiving,” an ensemble comedy from Red Hour and Endeavor Content, a press release has announced.
Written and directed by Nicol Paone, the pic sees glamorous, newly divorced actor Molly (Akerman), her recently-dumped lesbian best friend Abby (Dennings), and Molly’s Swedish mother Helen (Seymour) hosting “their motley crew of close friends and strange acquaintances” for a “dysfunctional, comical, and chaotic Thanksgiving dinner.”
Wanda Sykes, Aisha Tyler, and Chelsea Peretti co-star.
“Friendsgiving” marks Paone’s directorial debut. The former Funny or Die scribe co-wrote the 2002 feature “Pride & Loyalty” and has penned a number of shorts including “Die Stoner Die” and “Climate Change Denial Disorder.” Also an actress, she’s appeared in “The Big Gay Sketch Show,” “The Adventures of Delores Briggam,” and “Image Doctors.”
Akerman is among the project’s producers. She can currently be seen in “Rampage,” a blockbuster about infected animals wreaking havoc on Chicago that’s in theaters now. “Billions,” “The Comeback,” and “27 Dresses” are among her other credits.
Best known for starring in “2 Broke Girls” and the “Thor” franchise, Dennings has also appeared in “The House Bunny,” “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist,” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.”
Seymour’s credits include “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman,” “Let’s Get Physical,” and “Live and Let Live.”
