Hulu just can’t get enough of Margaret Atwood. Already home to an acclaimed adaptation of Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” and currently developing a series based on her sequel, “The Testaments,” the streamer just snagged U.S. rights to a doc about the Canadian author. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news.
Directed by Nancy Lang and Peter Raymont, “Margaret Atwood: A Word After a Word After a Word Is Power” follows Atwood and her late partner Graeme Gibson to events around the globe and onto the set of Elisabeth Moss-starrer “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
The doc is expected to start streaming November 19.
Atwood and Bernardine Evaristo were recently named at the winners of this year’s Booker Prize. The former is being recognized for “The Testaments” and the latter for “Girl, Woman, Other.”
“The Edible Woman,” “Alias Grace,” and “The Blind Assassin” are among Atwood’s other books.
“Margaret Atwood: A Word After a Word After a Word Is Power” will have its world premiere November 7 in Toronto and is slated to make its international premiere in November at the IDFA festival in Amsterdam.
“The Handmaid’s Tale” has been renewed for a fourth season by Hulu with a premiere date TBD.
