The Inside Out Toronto 2S (two spirit) LGBTQ+ Film Festival has announced its lineup for its 32nd edition, which will take place May 26-June 5.
The program will showcase almost 130 films, including 38 features. Among them are documentary “Jeannette,” from director Maris Curran, an intimate portrait of Jeannette Feliciano, a survivor of the Pulse Nightclub massacre, and “The Divide,” the latest from French filmmaker Catherine Corsini, which is set amid the anti-Macron “yellow vest” protests that began in France in 2018.
Amelia Eloisa’s “We Will Never Belong” has been chosen for the RE:Focus Gala Screening. It centers a teenage girl’s quest for the truth amid complicated family and identity issues.
Meanwhile, “Neptune Frost” — co-directed by Anisia Uzeyman and Saul Williams — hails from Rwanda and is described as an “unmistakably queer, anti-capitalist, sci-fi musical.”
The extensive shorts program includes “The Syed Family Xmas Eve Game Night,” from Fawzia Mirza, about a queer Pakistani Muslim woman who brings her Puerto Rican partner home for the first time for family game night.
