A couple of TV heavyweights have inked overall deals.
Marti Noxon, a co-creator of Lifetime’s “UnReal” and an EP on “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” has signed a seven-figure, three-year deal with Skydance to create new projects. In good news for anyone who likes their feminist entertainment barbed and gleefully button-pushing, Noxon’s first project under the new deal is a TV adaptation of Sarai Walker’s (fantastic) fat-activist, feminist-revenge novel “Dietland.”
Over at the networks, “Madam Secretary” showrunner Barbara Hall has signed a two-year deal with CBS Television Studios. Now in its second year, “Madam Secretary,” starring Tea Leoni, averages 12.5 million viewers and is one of TV’s top ten script series. Hall will continue to oversee the drama while developing new projects for CBS.
