May the best biceps win. Indie arm wresting comedy “Golden Arm” has cast its leads. A press release announced that Mary Holland (“Veep,” “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates”) and Betsy Sodaro (“Another Period”) will topline the Maureen Bharoocha-directed feature.
Penned by Ann Marie Allison and Jenna Milly, “Golden Arm” sees “a tough lady trucker” train “her girly best friend” to compete in the National Ladies Arm Wrestling Championship, according to its official synopsis.
The pic is described as a “female buddy comedy that uses humor to drive women’s empowerment themes,” and counts former Women in Film head Jane Fleming among its exec producers.
Bharoocha’s credits include “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, over a dozen shorts, and episodes of “F’d,” a web series about neighbors in New York.
