Meryl Streep is in talks of joining Rob Marshall’s adaptation of Steven Sondheim’s Into the Woods. Into the Woods is a musical that takes different aspects and characters of classic fairy tales and interweaves them into an original story focusing on a baker and his wife and the witch that curses them. Streep is in talks to play the witch.
And in sad Streep news, the much rumored film Mommy & Me starring Streep and Tina Fey about a daughter who loses her job and has to go home to live with her mother will not be happening anytime soon. This was confirmed by Fey in her recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. However, Fey would love to work with Streep in the future.
