Michelle Wolf is getting her own show. The “Daily Show with Trevor Noah” contributor and writer will host a half-hour weekly talk show on Netflix, the streamer announced in a press release. Currently untitled, the project differs from most late-night fare in that it will neither “preach” nor include “a political agenda … unless it’s funny.”
In December Wolf made her HBO stand-up debut with “Michelle Wolf: Nice Lady.” She’s also written for and performed on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” and acted in “Horace and Pete” and “The Awesomes.” She was part of the writing teams for the 2016 Oscars and the 2014 Emmys.
“You can expect the types of jokes my former bosses would tell me we couldn’t do on TV,” Wolf said of her new show, set to premiere on Netflix later this year. She’ll exec produce via her Cats in Pants Banner. Christine Nangle (“The Mick”) and Dan Powell (“Inside Amy Schumer”) will serve as showrunners and EPs.
