Monica Potter to Star in NBC Sitcom Produced by Ellen DeGeneres

Parenthood star Monica Potter, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal as Kristina Braverman, will headline a new sitcom on NBC when the critically acclaimed family drama goes off the air next year after six seasons.

Potter is committed to star in an as-yet-untitled multi-cam comedy exec-produced by Ellen DeGeneres and written by Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer, the creators of I Hate My Teenage Daughter. Few details have emerged about the project, but Deadline reports that the show will be loosely based on Potter’s biography. Perhaps we can look forward to a guest appearance from Freddie Prinze, Jr.?
