The American Cinema Editors board has named Nancy Meyers the recipient of its ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award.
Steve Martin, who has starred in a number of films written and directed by Meyers including 2009’s “It’s Complicated,” will present the award to her at the 66th annual ACE Eddie Awards on January 29 in Beverly Hills, California.
“Nancy Meyers has been delighting and moving audiences around the world with deeply human, relatable stories for over three decades,” said the ACE Board of Directors. “As a writer and director, she’s brought us some of the most beloved films in recent memory, and pioneered the art of telling stories with strong female characters at their center. From ‘Private Benjamin’ to her most recent film ‘The Intern,’ Nancy is a trailblazing filmmaker and we’re thrilled to celebrate her body of work thus far.”
Meyers most recently wrote and helmed “The Intern,” which grossed more than $192 million worldwide on a budget of $35 million, prompting Forbes to describe the Anne Hathaway-Robert DeNiro comedy as “the box office winner we can’t ignore.”
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, is a previous Golden Eddie honoree.
You can still catch “The Intern” in theaters.
