Natalie Dormer is re-teaming with Fremantle and taking her relationship with the production and distribution company to the next level. The “Game of Thrones” alumna has signed a multi-year first-look deal that will see her exclusively co-develop a slate of drama series with Fremantle, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
The multi-hyphenate recently starred in Fremantle’s limited series “Picnic at Hanging Rock.” Released earlier this year on Amazon and Foxtel’s Showcase, the mystery is based on the 1967 novel of the same name and tells the story of missing schoolgirls. Dormer is collaborating with Fremantle and Mainstreet Pictures on “Vivling,” a series based on “Gone With the Wind” star Vivien Leigh.
Dormer starred in, produced, and co-wrote “In Darkness,” a thriller about a blind musician who hears a murder being committed. The pic hit theaters in May.
“Natalie is a true talent both as an actress and producer. Her great ambition and taste for compelling entertaining projects is a perfect mix to add to the Fremantle family,” said Christian Vesper, Fremantle executive vp and creative director for global drama.
“I avoid, on purpose, the roles that are just the wife, just the girlfriend, just the mother,” Dormer has said. Her on-screen credits include the “Hunger Games” franchise, “The Forest,” and “The Tudors.”
